After obtaining my Ph.D. from the University of Amsterdam in 2002, I have embarked on an international career in astronomy, focusing on infrared and submillimeter studies of dust in galaxies. I have lived in California and Virginia, in Manchester in the UK, in Taiwan, in Germany, before ending up in Barcelona. My roles have been diverse. I have obtained teaching experience as a faculty member in Virginia and Manchester. In Taiwan and also currently in Barcelona, I was/am employed as a research faculty, and in Germany I worked for ESO in a functional role within ALMA.

I like running and other activities in the outdoors; learning languages; and knitting. I currently live with my husband and two daughters just outside of Barcelona.
